The Gene and John Athletic Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide emerging gay and lesbian athletes with a reliable pool of resources (both monetary and community-based) to help them reach their potential and realize their dreams. Focus: Athletics. Qualif.: Applicants must be LGBT athlete students who are looking to continue their education while pursuing athletes. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Funds Avail.: $2,500-$5,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form. Deadline: July 31. Contact: [email protected].

Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage and supports LGBT students in their quest for higher education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be lesbians who are graduating high school seniors; must plan to attend a recognized college or university or be currently enrolled. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on demonstrated academic excellence and community service.

Funds Avail.: $3,000. Number Awarded: 3. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form, three essays, transcript of records and two letters of reference. Deadline: April 15. Contact: stonewall@ stonewallfoundation.org.

The Bee Winkler Weinstein Scholarship Fund (All/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote growth and self-sufficiency in young women by providing grants covering vocational/technical training, licensing fees, college application fees and the like. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be lesbians, female bisexuals or transgenders; must be between the ages of 18 to 25 and reside within the United States. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.
