curry powder A mixture of turmeric with several spices including cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, cumin, and fenugreek, made pungent with ginger, chilli, and pepper. A 10‐g portion can contain 7.5–10 mg of iron, but much of this is probably the result of contamination during the milling of the spices.
