clint
clint Joint-bounded surface unit of a hard, almost horizontally bedded limestone. The diameter varies typically from 1 to 2 m. It may be shallowly dissected by smooth gutters, or runnels, called grikes. It is a repeating component of a limestone pavement (an extensive bedding-plane surface exposed by erosion).
