ABRUNCULUS OF TRIER, ST.
Bishop; d. c. 527. The only definite information about Abrunculus, or Aprunculus, comes from gregory of tours, who says that upon his death Nicetius was elected bishop of Trier (Vitae patrum, 6.3, MGSrerMer 1:682). In the eleventh century his remains were translated from St. Symphorian to the church of St. Paulinus in Trier, and a century later, to the abbey church of Springiersbach.
