Bogumił of Gniezno, St.
BOGUMIŁ OF GNIEZNO, ST.
Archbishop of Gniezno; date of birth unknown; d. Dubrow, near Koło, Poland, 1092. Quite probably Bogumil (a.k.a. Theophilus) resigned his see in 1080 after five years in office and became a hermit until his death 12 years later. There is a puzzling divergence of opinion and lack of accurate information about him. He was venerated as a saint from the Middle Ages, and his cult was approved by the Holy See in 1925.
Feast: June 10.
