Schoenberg, Alexander Julius Wilhelm
SCHOENBERG, ALEXANDER JULIUS WILHELM
SCHOENBERG, ALEXANDER JULIUS WILHELM (1892–1985), German organic chemist. From 1927 to 1934 he was professor of organic chemistry at the Berlin-Charlottenburg Polytechnicum. Forced to leave Germany, he spent three years in the department of Medical Chemistry of the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and then was professor of chemistry at the University of Cairo until 1957 and director of its chemical institute. Returning to Berlin, he was made professor emeritus at the Polytechnicum in 1958.
