Buganda-Toro-Kibalian orogeny A phase of mountain building that occurred about 2075–1700 Ma ago, affecting what is now an area of Central and East Africa stretching from northern Zambia to Katanga Province in eastern Congo, and the borders of Uganda. Thrusting in a north-westward direction produced a belt now trending SW—NE and forming the north-eastern section of the Kibaride belt.
