Howeia (sentry palm; family Palmae) A genus of palms that have a single, closely hoop-marked trunk. The leaves are pinnate. The trees are monoecious, with inflorescences among the leaves. They are very commonly cultivated. There are 2 species, both endemic (see ENDEMISM) to Lord Howe Island (Australia).
