Palaeotaxus rediviva
Palaeotaxus rediviva The earliest recorded species of the Taxales (yew) family. Found in the Lower Jurassic of Europe, it is distinguished by the form of the leaf and the structure of the cuticle. The Taxales, unlike the conifers, have a single ovule surrounded by a berry-like structure. They bear terminal seeds. See also CONIFERALES.
