Federigo Enriques

1871-1946

Italian mathematician and philosopher of science who made important contributions to the theory of algebraic geometry. He argued that topology, metric geometry, and projective geometry are linked to specific orders of sensation, those being the general tactile-muscular, the special sense of touch, and vision, respectively.
