Stanley Mazor

1941-

American computer designer who, along with Marcian Hoff and Federico Faggin, developed the first microprocessor. He joined Intel in 1969 and worked with Faggin to improve Hoff's microprocessor architecture. Developed under contract for the Japanese calculator manufacturer Busicom, the resulting 4004-chip was formally announced to the industry in November 1971. Mazor also shares patents on the Symbol, which was developed while he was at Fairchild Semi-conductor (1964-1969).
