Russian heptathlon champion. Born Irina Ilyichova, Mar 27, 1968, in Irkutsk, Russia.
Won a silver medal for the heptathlon at Barcelona Olympics (1992); won non-championship pentathlon at World championships (1993), but was disqualified after failing drug tests, resulting in a 4-year suspension; won Götzis heptathlon (1998); placed 2nd at European Cup (1999).
