Russian writer. Name variations: (pseudonyms) Anna Iakovlevna Lenshina; Anna Mar; Princess Daydream. Born 1887 in St Petersburg, Russia; committed suicide by poison, 1917.

Explored themes of sexuality, unrequited love, religious devotion, obsession, and longing; collections of short prose fiction include Miniatures (1906), The Impossible (1912), and Blood and Rings (1916); novellas include Passers-by and For You Alone I Sinned (1914); also wrote play When Ships are Sinking (1915), 10 film scripts, and novel Woman on the Cross (1916).
