Fay, Vivien (b. around 1908)
American theatrical ballet dancer. Name variations: also seen as Vivian Fay. Born May 13, c. 1908, in Lubbock, Texas.
Trained by Theodore Kosloff, Alexandra Baldina, and Julietta Mendez at Kosloff Studio in San Francisco, CA; made debut in Gus Edwards vaudeville; performed in Naughty Riquette in Los Angeles (1926); moved to New York to dance in Rosalie (1928); performed specialty dances in numerous productions, including Earl Carroll's Vanities of 1930 and George White's Melody (1933); reentered classical ballet in Albertina Rasch's The Great Waltz, where she danced the role of Katti Lanner; appeared in Marx Brothers' film A Day at the Races (1937).
