Known as the Queen of Romantic Suspense, wrote over 200 historical, romance, and gothic novels under own name and pseudonyms, including Daughter of Anna (1941), Not in Our Stars (1945), Together They Ride (1945), Mistress of Mellyn (1960) and Midsummer's Eve (1986).
