Wenger, Lisa (1858–1941)
Swiss novelist and painter. Born 1858 in Berne, Switzerland; died 1941 in Carona; educated in Paris, Florence and Dusseldorf.
Founded school for porcelain painters in Basle and began writing late in life; known for lively fables and works about demonic powers of women; writings include Das blaue Märchenbuch (1905), Die Wunderdoktorin (1909), Das Zeichen (1914) and Der Vogel im Käfig (1922).
