Born on February 17, 1845, in Lisbon, Portugal; died on December 27, 1913, in Sigmaringen; daughter of Maria II da Gloria (1819–1853), queen of Portugal, and Ferdinand of Saxe-Coburg Gotha; married Leopold (1835–1905), prince of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, on September 12, 1861; children: William (1864–1927), prince of Hohenzollern; Ferdinand I (b. 1865), king of Rumania (r. 1914–1927); Charles Anthony (1868–1919), prince of Hohenzollern.
