David, José , French composer, son of Leon David;b. Sables-d’Olonne, Jan. 6, 1913. He entered the Paris Cons, in 1933. He studied with Fauchet, Jacques de la Presle, and Busser; also had lessons with Dupre (organ) and Emmanuel (music history). He collaborated with N. Obouhov in Traite d’harmonie tonale et atonale (Paris, 1947).
