David, Karl Heinrich

David, Karl Heinrich , Swiss composer; b. St.

Gallen, Dec. 30, 1884; d. Nervi, Italy, May 17, 1951. He studied in Cologne and Munich; taught at the Basel Cons. (1910–14), then at Cologne and Berlin (1914–17); in 1918, returned to Switzerland. He was the ed. of the Schweizer Musikzeitung in Zürich (1928-1).
