CAREER:

Professional photographer, 1977—, including commercial work for regional and national clients. University of North Carolina at Asheville, chief photographer at Learning Resources Media Center, 1974-75; Arts Journal, photographer and writer, 1977-81; Mountain Living, chief photographer and writer, 1978-81; Appalachian Photographic Workshops, director, 1980-88. Exhibitions: Fine art prints have been exhibited in more than sixty solo and group shows in the United States and abroad, 1977—, including the traveling exhibition "The Face of Appalachia," and are represented in museums and other collections, including those of Metropolitan Museum of Art, R.J. Reynolds Industries, Soho Photo Gallery, High Museum of Art, Bank of America, and Elon University.
