SIDELIGHTS: Michele Moore told CA: "I write because I think the public has a need to have access to accurate medical information in this time of rushed doctor's visits. It is also my firm belief that this information should be presented in an engaging manner and easy to read. The primary influence on my work comes from my patients. For me, writing happens in fits and starts. I spend a lot of time thinking about the subject matter and doing research and do little writing while I'sm doing this. Once I do begin to write, I pretend that I'm talking to a patient and usually write about eight pages per sitting. As a physician, I'm accustomed to frequent interruptions while remaining aware that the task needs to be completed."
