epoetin (recombinant human erythropoietin) (ep-oh-ee-tin) n. either of two forms of erythropoietin produced by genetic engineering – e. alfa (Eprex) or e. beta (NeoRecormon) – administered by injection for treating anaemia associated with chronic renal failure or induced by chemotherapy.
