Eppert, Carl
Eppert, Carl, American composer and conductor; b. Carbon, Ind., Nov. 5, 1882; d. Milwaukee, Oct. 1, 1961. He studied with Harris and Wells at the American Cons, in Chicago, and then with Kaun, Nikisch, and Kunwald in Berlin (1907–14). After conducting the Seattle Grand Opera, he led the Milwaukee Civic Orch. (1921–26) and was head of the theory and composition dept. at the Wise. Cons, in Milwaukee (1921–23).
