American Association of Blacks in Energy Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help increase the number of African Americans and other misrepresented minorities in energy-related fields. Focus: Energy-related areas. Qualif.: Applicants must have at least an overall “B” academic average and a “B” average in mathematics and science courses; must be graduating high school seniors who have applied to one or more accredited colleges/universities; must be planning to major in engineering, mathematics, or the physical sciences; must demonstrate financial need; and must be members of one of the underrepresented minority groups in the sciences and related areas of technology. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on criteria designed by the organization's National Scholarship Committee.

Funds Avail.: $1,500. Number Awarded: 6. To Apply: Applicants must submit completed AABE application form; high school transcript; two letters of reference (one academic, one non-academic); and parent(s) or guardian(s) official verification of income (copy of signed tax return for previous year or W2 or a verified FAFSA form).
