Joe Bynum/Raymond James Investment Services Technical Excellence Scholarships Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help young men and women secure a college education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduates of Oxford High School in Calhoun County; must have a 2.5 average on a 4.0 scale; must be enrolled as part- or full-time students. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need, academic ability and good character.

Funds Avail.: $2,500. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form and an essay describing their personal aspirations, educational or career goals and how this scholarship will help in achieving their career goals. Deadline: February 1.

Calhoun County Auduburn University Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial resources enabling local students to pursue higher education at Auduburn University. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduates of any accredited public or private high school within Calhoun County; must have maintained 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Melanie and Todd Edmonson Memorial Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage young people to follow their dreams and to help lessen some of life's challenges. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduates of Oxford High School or its successor; must have 3.0 or “B” average; must be actively involved in their community, school and religious activities; must be full or part-time enrolled students at an accredited institution of higher learning in the United States; may be pursuing any field of academic study or technical training. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need and academic performance.

Gadsden State/McClellan Campus Nursing Scholarships Award (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote and celebrate the nursing profession. Focus: Nursing. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduates of an accredited public or private high school within Calhoun County currently attending Gadsden State/McClellan Campus; must be enrolled in LPN Nursing Program. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on character, academic ability, school/community service and financial need.

Farley Moody Galbraith Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage high school seniors to attain a four-year college degree. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors from any public or private high school including home school; must have 3.0 average on a 4.0 scale; must be enrolled as part- or full-time students. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need, academic ability and good character.

Whitney Laine Gallahar Memorial Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide supplement funding for full- or part-time enrolled students at an accredited state college or university within Alabama. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors of Ohatchee High school or its successor institution; must have 2.5 GPA; must be enrolled as part- or full-time. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need, academic ability and good character.

Guin-Stanford Scholarships (Professional Development/Scholarship)

Purpose: To enhance the quality of life in Calhoun County, Alabama. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors of Anniston High School or its successor institution; must maintain high personal standards and moral character; must have a minimum of 2.5 or “C” average on a 4.0 scale; must be enrolled full-time. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need, academic ability and good character.

Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors from any public or private high school including home schools; must have 2.5 or “C” average on a 4.0 scale; must be enrolled as part- or full-time students. Gertie S. Lowe Nursing Scholarships Award (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote and celebrate the nursing profession. Focus: Nursing. Qualif.: Applicants must be full- or part-time students in the LPN or RN program at Gadsten State Community College; must be graduates of any accredited public or private high school within Calhoun County currently attending Gadsden State Community College. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on character, academic ability, school/community service and financial need.

Jerry Medforth Nursing Scholarships Award (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote and celebrate the nursing profession. Focus: Nursing. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduates of any accredited public or private high school within Calhoun County possessing an unencumbered Registered Nurse License; must be full-time students enrolled at the Jacksonville State University Lurleen B. Wallace College of Nursing and Health Sciences RN to BSN Strategic Teaching for Enhanced Professional Preparation program. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on character, academic ability, school/community service and financial need.

Reverend John S. Nettled Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To foster hope, self-confidence and ambition in the graduates of Anniston High School. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors from Anniston high School; must have 2.5 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on character, academic ability, school, church and community service and financial need.

The Nightingale Scholarships Award (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Qualif.: Applicants must be full-time students attending an accredited four-year college or university within the United States in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in nursing; must be graduates of an accredited public or private high school within Calhoun County; must have a 3.0 overall high school GPA on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Gerald Powell Scholarship (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support tuition assistance for students attending Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School in Anniston, Alabama. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be enrolled on a full-time basis at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School either in elementary or high school levels; must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or “C” on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on background, financial need and clarity and completeness of application.

Joseph and Amelia Saks Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To foster educational opportunities for graduates of Saks High School; to provide full or supplemental funding for full-time enrolled students over a four-year period at an accredited college or university within the United States. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating senior students of Saks High School or it’s successor institution; must have maintained high personal standards and moral character; must have a minimum of

2.5 or “C” average on a 4.0 scale; must be full-time students completing academics aligned with their specific major or degree. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need and academic performance.

To Apply: Applicants must submit: a completed application form; an essay describing their personal aspirations, educational or career goals and how this scholarship will help in achieving their career goals; a signed letter of acceptance; certified proof of enrollment from an institution and confirmation that the recipient is enrolled; and an official college or university transcript at the end of academic term. Mark Dauglas Sawyer Memorial Scholarship (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide tuition assistance for students attending Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School in Anniston, Alabama. Focus: General studies. Purpose: To supplement tuition at the baccalaureate level. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating senior students from Oxford High School; must maintain a GPA of 2.5 and have strong moral character as attested to by recommendations; must be recognized for school and community service. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need.

Mary Katherine “Kathy” Williamson Scholarship Fund Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To enhance the quality of life in Calhoun County, Alabama. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be individuals who have a diploma from any accredited public or private high school or who have earned the General Education Development (GED) certificate; must be residents of Calhoun County; must have a 2.5 overall GPA or better on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on financial need, passion to serve the needs of others and community service.
