National Slovak Society of the USA Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially assist members in attending college or trade school. Focus: Nursing; Education, Vocational-technical Qualif.: Applicant must be a member of the National Slovak Society for a minimum of two years; completed high school; have a minimum of $10,000 of permanent life insurance in force, or $5000 annuity; accepted by a college or university; a junior college, nursing, trade, technical or business school (2 years); or other institutions approved by the NSS Board of Directors. Criteria: Applications is reviewed by the Fraternal Growth Committee of the NSS Board of Directors.

Funds Avail.: $400 per year. Number Awarded: Varies. To Apply: Applicants must submit completed applications along with latest transcript; proof of acceptance as a full-time student; a resume/biographical sketch with recent photograph; and proof of fraternal activities. Deadline: May 1.

National Slovak Society of the USA Senior Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To encourage older members to continue their education and to make fuller use of their leisure time.

Focus: Education, Vocational-technical. Qualif.: Applicant must be a member of the National Slovak Society; 55 years and above; enrolled and successfully completed a continuing education or adult education course. Continuing education classes for the attainment or maintenance of a degree or certification are not qualified. Criteria: Applications are reviewed by the National Officer.

Funds Avail.: One-half reimbursement of the tuition, limited up to $100. To Apply: Applicants must enroll and pay for the course of their choice, after the applicant have finished the class, they must submit an application, along with the verification that the class was successfully completed.
