Adoxaceae A family comprising 3 genera of obscure affinities; monotypic Adoxa (moschatel), is of global distribution in northern-hemisphere, cool temperate woodlands. It is a herb 5–10 cm tall, with ternate leaves and a terminal inflorescence of 4 outward- and 1 upward-facing flowers which are 5- or (in the terminal flower) 4-lobed and light green; the ovary is inferior. The fruit is a drupe.
