Born on January 15, 1882, in Bagshot Park, Surrey, England; died on May 1, 1920, in Stockholm, Sweden; daughter of Arthur Saxe-Coburg, duke of Connaught (son of Queen Victoria of England), and Louise Margaret of Prussia (1860–1917); married Gustavus VI Adolphus (1882–1973), king of Sweden (r. 1950–1973), on June 15, 1905, at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, England; children: Gustav Adolphus, duke of Westerbotten (1906–1947); Sigvard (1907—); Ingrid of Sweden (b. 1910, who married Frederick IX, king of Denmark); Bertil (b. 1912), duke of Halland; Charles John, duke of Dalecarlia (b. 1916).
Following the death of Margaret of Connaught in 1920, Gustavus VI Adolphus married Louise Mountbatten .
