Polish parapet
Polish parapet. Type of Renaissance parapet ornamented with blind arcades, aedicules, pilasters, pedestals, pediments, pyramids, etc., concealing the roof, commonly found in Poland. Good examples are the Cloth Hall, Kraków (1555–8), the Town Hall, Chełmno on the Vistula (1567–72), and two remarkable façades in the Market Square of Kazimierz Dolny (1615 and 1635).
