APAGS-CLGBTC Grant Program (Graduate/Grant)

Purpose: To fund a project that promotes training and educational experiences in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Concerns practice. Focus: Psychology. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduate student member of APAGS; enrolled as a student in good standing at an accredited university; must be in a masters or doctoral program. Undergraduates are not eligible for the scholarships. Criteria: Scholarship Selection Committee will review applications based on objective, qualitative and quantitative criteria.

Undergraduates are not eligible for the scholarships. Criteria: Scholarship Selection Committee will review applications based on objective, qualitative and quantitative criteria.

Funds Avail.: $1,000 for Spring Semester and $1,000 for Fall Semester. Number Awarded: 5. ASPPB Larry J. Bass Jr., PhD. Memorial Scholarship Awards (Graduate, Undergraduate/Grant)

Purpose: To provide funds for research on the regulation of psychology. Focus: Psychology. Qualif.: Applicants must be psychology graduate students or advanced undergraduate psychology majors. Criteria: Scholarship Selection Committee will review applications based on objective, qualitative and quantitative criteria.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a curriculum vitae/resume; a recommendation from a professor or advisor who will mentor the research; a written proposal that includes: outline of the desired area of research, description of the proposed methodology and estimate of project timeline. Deadline: May.

Remarks: The Scholarship was named after the former

Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduate student member of APAGS; enrolled as a student in good standing at an accredited university; must be in a masters or doctoral program. Undergraduates are not eligible for the scholarships. Criteria: Scholarship Selection Committee will review applications based on objective, qualitative and quantitative criteria.

To Apply: Applicants must submit a cover letter that indicates the name of the scholarship; a curriculum vitae; a statement (500 words) addressing the applicant's short and long-term goals; a formal proposal; and two letters of recommendation that supports the application. Deadline: May 16.

Diversity Dissertation Scholarships (Doctorate/Fellowship)

Purpose: To encourage and support graduate students in their research in the field of psychology concerning diversity issues. Focus: Psychology. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduate student member of APAGS; enrolled as a student in good standing at an accredited university; must be in a doctoral program. Criteria: Recipient is selected based on the relevance of the study to diversity.

Funds Avail.: $1,500. Funds must be used to support proposed research. To Apply: Applicants must submit a cover letter that indicates the name of the nominee and the scholarship being applied for; graduate school affiliation; dissertation chair, current address, phone number and email address; a letter of recommendation supporting the application; an abbreviated dissertation proposal; and a curriculum vitae. Deadline: May.

Nancy B. Forest and L. Michael Honaker Master's Scholarships for Research (Doctorate, Graduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To fund a research in the field of Psychology at the Masters level. Focus: Psychology. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduate student member of APAGS; enrolled as a student in good standing at an accredited university; must be in a masters or doctoral program. Undergraduates are not eligible for the scholarships. Criteria: Scholarship Selection Committee will review applications based on objective, qualitative and quantitative criteria.

Remarks: The scholarship is named in honor of APA staff members Nancy B. Forest and L. Michael Honaker, PhD for their support of APAGS over the years.

Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduate student member of APAGS; enrolled as a student in good standing at an accredited university; must be in a masters or doctoral program.
