Canadian actress. Born Mary Bickford Dunn, Nov 8, 1895, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada; died Jan 23, 1937, in Hollywood, CA; sister of Marjorie Prevost (actress); m. 2nd husband Kenneth Harlan (screen star), 1924 (div. 1927).
Launched film career as a Mack Sennett bathing beauty (1916), then became a leading lady; joined Universal (1921); specializing in romantic comedy, appeared in 3 Ernst Lubitsch films, The Marriage Circle, Three Women and Kiss Me Again; made over 70 films, including Up in Mabel's Room, Getting Gertie's Garter and The Godless Girl; when career wained because of weight gain, went on a radical diet and was found dead of extreme malnutrition.
