Diversity Executive Leadership Program Scholarships (Professional Development/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help individuals from underrepresented segments of the association community advance into the ranks of leadership in the association management profession; to encourage leadership roles in association management; to increase diversity within the field of association management by providing educational and networking opportunities to potential leaders form underrepresented populations; to support scholars by providing opportunities to increase their connections and understanding of association management; to match scholars with mentors to provide career guidance and enhance networking opportunities; to demonstrate the long-term benefit of the program to ASAE and The Center, to the association profession, and to the scholars. Focus: Leadership, Institutional and community; Management. Qualif.: Member of a racial or ethnic minority group, GLBT, or person with a disability; currently employed as a mid-to-senior level association employee with minimum of three years experience in association management or as an association CEO for a minimum of one year; has a professional, volunteer, civic or community leadership experience. Criteria: Preference is given to individuals who are members of ASAE & The Center and/or individuals who work with ASAE & The Center members; Recipients are selected on the basis of commitment to attend the DELP orientation, professional education programs and service on an ASAE and The Center or allied society committee or council.
